Yolanda Ledford Ramsey, 100, of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, September 16 at her residence. Mrs. Ramsey was a highly intelligent woman who graduated Bradley Central High School a year early, attended McKenzie Business School, and helped take care of her family’s farm. She faithfully attended Tasso United Methodist Church for 100 years. During her time attending Tasso UMC, she served as a Sunday school teacher, pianist, and officer of Women’s Society for Christian Services, teacher at Vacation Bible School, church treasurer, and served on a variety of church committees. She was an incredible cook, cake decorator, and served as the school secretary at North Lee Elementary School for 16 years, retiring at the age of 70. Mrs. Ramsey used her compassionate nature to help others throughout her life and she will be missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents Lina and Judd Ledford; husband Clyde W Ramsey; daughter Sarah Ramsey Hancock; sisters Lola Dean Ragsdale and Elizabeth Goodner; brothers Vernon Ledford and J.L. Ledford; and son-in-law Steve Keasler.
She is survived by her children Jon Ramsey and wife Joan, Mary Ramsey Keasler of Chattanooga, and Paul Ramsey of Cleveland; grandchildren Julie Ramsey Smith and husband Ritchie of Boston, MA, Casey Keasler of Portland, OR, Britt Keasler of Chattanooga, Barret Hancock of Cleveland, Carter Hancock and wife Keely of Virgina Beach, VA, Sarah Beth Ramsey Clayton and husband Kyle of Cartersville, GA, Chase Ramsey and wife Andrea of Nashville; great-grandchildren Alexis Smith, Brooke Smith, Ramsey Hancock, Prudence Hancock, Giselle Bolis-Keasler, Wyatt Clayton, Hayes Clayton, and Owen Ramsey; several nieces and nephews; and several great-grand nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home, Monday September 21, 2020 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Joe Ratledge officiating. Chase Ramsey, Kyle Clayton, Britt Keasler, Joe Hooper, Carter Hancock, and Barrett Hancock will serve as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony and playing of bagpipes will conclude the service at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, we are making our services available for you to view on Ralph Buckner Funeral Home’s Facebook page during the service time or at a later time.
The family will receive friends Monday, September 21, 2020 from 12:00-2:00pm at the funeral home, prior to the service.
