Wilma Faye Webb Chastain
(December 5, 1940 ~ June 26, 2023)
Wilma Faye Webb Chastain, 82, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, in Knoxville, TN. She was a lifetime resident of Cleveland, TN, until retiring to Knoxville to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She was a long time member of First United Methodist Church of Cleveland. Wilma spent many years working alongside her husband of 60 years, William Emmett Chastain. Together they spent many hours serving their community, including the Boys Club of Cleveland.
She was strong, intelligent, caring, with her most passionate role being that of wife, mother, and grandmother. Her smile and energy allowed her to be a most outgoing and friendly person. She had a gift for remembering people’s names and faces. Anyone who knew her from Shoney’s was immediately greeted and treated as family. She loved sports, especially watching the Braves, and socializing with anyone and everyone. Her influence on the lives of her family and those around her was profound, and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her devoted husband, William Emmett Chastain; her parents, Charles and Margaret Sue Webb; her sisters, Edna Louise Green, Connie Rebecca Green; and her grandson, Carter William Hicks.
She is survived by her son, W. Tyler Chastain (Heather) of Knoxville, TN; her son, Whitney Jason Chastain (Holli) of Kingsort, TN; and her daughter, Emily Chastain Hicks of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Haleigh Chastain of Knoxville, TN; Holly Chastain Molnar (Andrew) of Nashville, TN; Hudson A. Chastain (Deb) of Birmingham, AL; Daniel Chastain of Birmingham, AL; Grace Whitney Chastain of Kingsport, TN; Colin Jason Chastain of Kingsport, TN; Cooper W. Hicks (Taylor) of La Grange, NC, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the employees and residents of Trustwell Independent Living, the staff at Life Care Center of Blount County, and the caring hospice workers from Amedisys.
