Steven "Tony" Anthony Lyle

Steven Anthony “Tony” Lyle, 76, a native of Cleveland, passed away on January 18, 2024, at his residence in Dublin, Ohio.   He was born in Cleveland on August 8, 1947, and was a 1965 graduate of Bradley Central High School.  After graduation he attended Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, Tennessee, and spent time in additional engineering vocational training.   He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1968 and served on active duty until 1972.  In 1978 he was awarded an Associate of Science degree from Cleveland State Community College.  He worked for Cleveland Utilities, and for several engineering companies operating in the southern and midwestern U.S.  He eventually became based in the Columbus, Ohio area, and at the time of his death he was retired and living in Dublin, Ohio.

He was the son of the late David Mitchell Lyle and Sarah Elizabeth (“Betty”) Lyle of Cleveland.  

He is survived by one brother, James David Lyle, and sister-in-law Mary Kathleen Lyle, of Centreville, Virginia.  He is also survived by a nephew, David Roy Lyle, niece, Sarah Kathleen Lyle, both of Fairfax County, Virginia, and a nephew, James Mitchell Lyle, and niece-in-law, Sonja Marie Lyle, of Mount Juliet, Tennessee.   He is further survived by a grandnephew, James Douglas Lyle, of Mount Juliet, Tennessee; several cousins in the Cleveland area and in South Carolina also survive. 

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Sunday, February 4, 2024, at Poole of Cleveland Funeral Home, 3000 Ralph Buckner Boulevard NE.

A graveside service will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery, with family members serving as pallbearers.
