Dr. Stephen Sae Chang Kim, age 92, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in Marietta, GA. Dr. Kim practiced family medicine in Cleveland TN since 1979. He served as a Commander in the Public Health Service (honorable discharge, 1978). He attended the First Baptist Church of Cleveland, and diligently studied the ancient Greek Bible in the last years of his life.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dr. Mary Kim, his son, David Kim, and his father, Choi Ok Kim, and his mother, Bu Wan Kim.
He is survived by his three daughters, Susan White of Johnstown, CO (married to Peter White), Dr. Grace Kim of Atlanta, GA, and Hannah Kim of Asheville, NC (married to Andrew Franch, and granddaughter Madeline Franch); his siblings, Rev. Sae Hee Kim, older brother (married to Young Ok Kim) from Atlanta, GA; Dr. Sue K. Lee (married to Dr. Everett Lee) his sister from Atlanta, GA; Dr. Sae In Kim (married to Kyoung Ja Kim) from MD; and Dr. Sae Duk Kim (married to Sung Sook Kim) from Boston, MA.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 1pm at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Tom Wickes and Rev. Sae Hee Kim officiating. The Interment will follow at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens. A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 11am-1pm on Saturday, January 29, 2022 prior to the service at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
