Mrs. Shirley Diane Moats, of Gadsden, Alabama formerly of Cleveland, TN passed peacefully early Saturday, November 30, 2024, at home. She was 71 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 6, 2024, at Poole Funeral Home Chapel Cleveland with Pastor Millard Hooper officiating. Burial will follow in Plowman Cemetery with Poole Funeral Home Cleveland directing. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
Mrs. Moats was born June 14, 1953, in Chattanooga, TN to the late Silas and Ruby Wooden Smith. Mrs. Moats spent most of her life in the Chattanooga and Cleveland, TN areas. She was a member of High Point Baptist Church for the last several years and had been attending Macedonia Baptist Church in Gadsden, AL for the last few years. She was devoted to her faith, her church, and family. Mrs. Moats loved to travel and looked forward to taking her next cruise. She was also an avid reader.
Mrs. Moats was preceded in death by her parents; Her first husband, James McPhetridge; two brothers, Kenneth, and Tommy Smith.
She is survived by her husband, Allan Moats. Her three daughters, Anita Spandau, Melissa Landis, Jami Smith (Hank). Several grandchildren, Michael Spandau (Sandy), Kelley Spandau, Cody McPhetridge, Bryan Landis, Nickolas Landis, Matthew Smith, and Lucas Smith. A great grandson, Aariz Spandau, and one brother, Larry Smith.
