Ruth Ann Johnson
Ruth Ann Johnson, 86, passed away Saturday, April 8, 2023, at a local healthcare facility, surrounded by her family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and was a member of Four Point Baptist Church for over 40 years. She enjoyed camping and loved Gospel singing, and was retired from a career in machine operation at American Uniform after over 40 years of loyal service.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Katherine Rayburn; her husband of over 60 years, Johnny William Johnson; a son, David William Johnson; a sister, Patsy Cronan; and a brother-in-law, Wayne Bishop.
She is survived by two children, Jimmy Wayne Johnson, of Old Fort, TN; a grandson, Michael Wayne Johnson (Kristi) of Cleveland; two great-grandchildren, Abigail Johnson and Alex Johnson (Amy), of Cleveland; a sister, Shirley Bishop; and a brother, Kenneth Rayburn (Annabelle), also of Cleveland. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of her life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2023 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Ray Cheatham officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Sam Rayburn, Jeff Bishop, Keith Higgins, Alex Higgins, Michael Cabrera, and Roy Tatum serving as pallbearers. Ray Cheatham will serve as honorary pallbearer. A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 13, 2023 at the funeral home.
