Frances Rush

Mrs. Frances Rush of Ocoee, TN departed this life peacefully on Friday, May 10, 2024, at Willow Acres in Riceville, TN. She was ninety-two.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Smyrna Baptist Church with Revs. Jimmy Parm and David Evans officiating. Mrs. Rush will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Poole Funeral Home of Cleveland directing.  Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at Poole Funeral Home of Cleveland.

Mrs. Rush was born February 20, 1932, in Ocoee, TN to the late John Wesley and Ora Stamper Kinser. Frances graduated from Polk County High School in 1950. She was a lifelong resident of Polk County. Frances always cooked lunch for all her family every Sunday. Everyone enjoyed her homemade biscuits. Frances always taught Vacation Bible School every year at Smyrna Baptist Church where she was a Lifelong member and was in charge of writing letters and cards to church members.  Frances  worked and retired from the U.S. Postal Service in Ocoee.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband Chester “Bill” Rush in 2013, a daughter, Jawaun Rush in 1991; also two brothers, J.L. Kinser and Harle Kinser; two sisters, Ruby Dixson and Waunetta “DeeDo” Ledford.

Survivors include two daughters, Devonna Tomlinson (Randy), Tawnya Middleton (Bill); one son, Wesley Rush; grandchildren, Matthew Yates(Minelys), Valynn Cantrell (Mike), Christy Gibson (Tim), Tyler Davis, Tanner Davis, Haley Thomas (Tylan) and Hanna Davis; great grandchildren, Hannah Cantrell, Michael Cantrell,  Brody Gibson, Regan Hadley Gibson, Ryder Davis, Bradley Davis, Sullivan Cantrell, Liam Davis, Ayden Yates, Landon Davis, Brock and Braylex Thomas, and Brinley Thomas; one brother, Patrick Kinser (Estelle); two special nieces, Lydia Nail and Manon Sells.

Pallbearers will be Tyler Davis, Tanner Davis, Logan Atterton, Lucas Atterton, Stan Allen, and Nathan Brown.
