Kathleen Hingle Whitty

Mrs. Kathleen Hingle Whitty, age 69 of Cleveland, TN, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2024, at Tennova Hospital following a brief illness. Mrs. Whitty was born May 8, 1954, in New Orleans, LA to the late John Burton and Hilda M. Bohne Hingle. Mrs. Whitty graduated from the University of Memphis and later graduated from the University of Tennessee with her Juris Doctorate. Mrs. Whitty worked in the public defender’s office in Memphis, TN and later as an attorney with the State of Tennessee. Mrs. Whitty enjoyed shopping for clothes and footwear. Along with her parents, Mrs. Whitty is preceded in death by her brother, John Hingle, Jr. in 1982. Survivors include her husband, Gary Whitty of Cleveland, TN; three brothers, Ken (Karla) Hingle of Pensacola, FL, Jim (Ann) Hingle of Red Banks, MS, Rob (Pam) Hingle of The Villages, FL; sister-in-law, Mary Beth Whitty of New York; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cleveland from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon on Thursday, February 8, 2024. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday, February 8, 2024, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with burial to follow the service.
