Katherine “Kay” Freeland, 83 of Cleveland, TN passed away Tuesday, January 16th, 2024.
Kay was born in New Jersey, raised in Philadelphia, and spent many years in St. Petersburg, FL. She then moved to Hialeah, FL after welcoming her son and daughter into the world. Kay was of the Roman Catholic faith and attended St. Therese Catholic Church in Cleveland, TN. She retired after over 20 years of service with Northern Telecom and earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Nova University while working there. Kay was also a private pilot in South Florida maintaining her Single Engine Prop Aviation license. She also held real estate licenses in Florida and Tennessee. Kay was always learning and growing which inspired her children to do the same. She was known as a people person and loved to give gifts and celebrate the holidays. Kay will always be remembered for her giving spirit and selfless heart.
Kay was preceded in death by her daughter, Victoria Janet Del Haya Toth; grandson, Jean Toth; parents, Earl and Murl Miles; and sister, Janet Miles.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Anthony “Tony” Freeland; son, Joseph “Joe” Del Haya; granddaughters, JoAnna Rivera and Cherry Lillian Toth; step-daughter, Tracy Tanga; three step grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; and many friends.
