John F. “Pinky” Browder Jr, 83, passed away May 7, 2021 at his home in Old Fort, TN. He loved his family, music, especially Gospel and Bluegrass, going to the Smokey Mountains, and sitting on his garage porch. “Pinky” was a role model employee. He retired from Maytag after 43 years of service, amassing 35 years of perfect attendance.
In his younger years, he and his brother had piper cab aircrafts, he was a licensed pilot, and gave lessons. He was a member of Conasauga River Baptist Church and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John F. Browder Sr. and Edna Mae Browder Waters, wife, Annie Mae Browder; son, Franklin Ray Browder; granddaughter, Natasha Cathey; and grandson, Zachery Jones.
He is survived by his daughters, Janie Browder Payton of Chattanooga, and Sandy Browder Blankenship of Old Fort, TN; grandchildren, Brent Browder, and wife Felisha, Jesse Browder and wife Crystal, Haden Browder and wife Kristie, Sanna German and husband, Derrick, Colt Cathey, and Elijah Tallant; great-grandchildren Alex Browder, Brynne Browder, Layla Browder, McKinley Browder, Tate Browder, Riley German, and Reed German; several nieces, nephews and friends also survived.
A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at 3:00pm at Conasauga River Baptist Church Cemetery with the Scottie Lyle officiating. Brent Browder, Jesse Browder, Haden Browder, Colt Cathey, Tony Price, Tevin Scott Anthony, and Danny Pickel will serve as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony and playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.
