Jacquelyn “Jackie” Key, 70, a resident of Cleveland passed away at her home on Friday, August 6, 2021 after a three year courageous battle with cancer. She attended North Cleveland Baptist Church and accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at the age of 14.
She was an avid gardener and collector of rocks. Jackie loved to travel but her favorite destination was at home in her garden and with loving her boys. Everyone went to her for advice which she gave honestly, and she was a great listener. She had a large family and had made many lifelong friendships.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Reed and Mae “Tootie” Kendall; brother, Ron Kendall; two sisters, Patty Heavener and Cindy Kendall.
She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Barry Key of Cleveland; son and daughter-in-law, Scott and Stacey Key of Chattanooga; son, Patrick Key of Cleveland; sister, Cathy Cruse of Morganton, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Don and Marilyn Kendall of Morganton, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Cheryl and Larry Bradburn of Blue Ridge, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Jane and Leonard Self of Morganton, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Sandi and Charlie Williams of Woodstock, GA; brother, Mike Kendall of Morganton, GA; sister, Julie Wilkins of Murphy, NC; and many nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of her life will be conducted at 7:30 pm on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Jay McCluskey officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 7:30 pm on Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
