Harold Lewis Cross

Mr. Harold L. Cross, of Cleveland, TN, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2024, at Bradley Health & Rehab after a brief illness. He was 75 years old. 

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Poole Funeral Home Chapel Cleveland at 2:00 pm with Pastor Gary Higgins officiating. Burial with military honors will be provided by the U.S. Marine Corp at Sunset Memory Gardens at 3:30 pm on January 8, 2025. Visitation will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at Poole Funeral Home Cleveland. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made to the Boys & Girls Club of Cleveland, 2277 Parker St. NE., Cleveland, TN 37311 or at www.bgca.org. 

Mr. Cross was born April 22, 1949, in Cleveland, TN to the late Lester and Onie May Plumley Cross. After finishing school Mr. Cross served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp and was a Vietnam Veteran. Mr. Cross worked for over ten plus years at Mueller as a Lead Supervisor and worked for Brown Stove Manufacturing. Mr. Cross was best known for coaching football, basketball, baseball, and softball at the Cleveland Boys & Girls Club for several years. Mr. Cross was of the Baptist faith. 

Mr. Cross was preceded in death by his parents; also, his wife Becky Cross in 2009; his siblings Eunice Cross, Dorothy Cross, Lucy Jacobs, Mildred Norman, Ruby Young, Floyd Cross, Bobby Cross, Robert Cross, and Roy Cross. 

Survivors include his daughter, Amy Gibson (Adam); son, Greg Cross (Gayle); grandchildren, Kayla Whitt (Bryce), Brice Gibson (Drakken), Jacob Cross, Aiden Gibson, and Alyssa Gibson; one great granddaughter, Brinlee Gibson; special niece, Lucille Gibson (Gary); a special friend, Bernie Turner. 

The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Bradley Health & Rehab for their outstanding care of Mr. Cross. Also, the Staff at Hospice of Chattanooga Cleveland Office for their care as well.
