Garland Camuel Morrow, 79, of Cleveland, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, January 14, 2020 at his residence. He was a devout Christian and member of Clingan Ridge Baptist Church and was a past long-time member of Waterville Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time on his small farm raising goats. Camuel enjoyed talking and socializing and was known to many of his friends by his CB handle “Mr. Bull.” Before his retirement, he had worked at Hart’s Automotive and City Auto Parts. He survived a near fatal motorcycle accident at a young age and struggled physically most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Camuel Smith Morrow and Ellen Ida Gamble Morrow; a very special grandson, Cory Carington Cash; brothers, Fred Morrow, Rev. J. C. Morrow, Arnold Maddox, and infant brother, Thomas Franklin Morrow; sisters, Geneva Bishop, Annie Moore, and Juanita Woody.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years and caretaker, Laura Serena Murphy Morrow; daughter, Sonya Cash Crago and husband Brent of Cleveland; one grandson, Cody Remington Cash and wife Candice ; three great-grandchildren, Carson Bennington Cash, Conner Huntington Cash, Amos Alton Waddell ; two step-grandchildren, Andrew Crago and wife Sydney, Casie Crago Waddell and husband Cory; brother, Don Morrow and wife Brenda of Cleveland; sister, Peggy Davis of Calhoun, TN; two sisters-in-law, Geneva “Bloss” Morrow and Mary Key, both of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of his life will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, January 17, 2020 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Ricky Vaughn officiating. A private interment will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020 in Sunset Memorial’s Garden of Love with a white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes concluding the service.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to www.stjude.org.
