Elaine R. Koeppen

August 11, 1938 — March 10, 2021

Elaine R. Koeppen (Sattler), age 82, of Cleveland, passed Wednesday, March 10, 2021. Elaine was born in Allentown, PA, the daughter of William & Ruth Sattler. She was married to her husband, John Koeppen for over 61 years.

Elaine went to Capital University in Ohio and studied to be a church secretary at one time. In Miami, Elaine had been an accountant, working for the Girl Scout Council of Tropical Florida, Bertram Yacht, and others. She belonged to the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter of the Biscayne Masonic Lodge in Miami. Elaine, like John, was also an avid blood & pheresis donor over the years. She also enjoyed working with Via de Cristo, His Hands Extended, and the Women\s Auxiliary of the Gideon’s in sharing God’s Word. Elaine and John enthusiastically supported The 100 Black Men of Bradley County, as well as donated to various schools and New Hope Pregnancy Center in Cleveland. She was a member of First Lutheran Church of Cleveland, and loved making quilts for Lutheran World Relief. She was a loving Christian wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Elaine will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Elaine is preceded in death by her husband, John; daughter, Deborah Lynn Koeppen; parents; and  sister, Merrily Martin.

Elaine is survived by daughter, Ramona Howard (Keith); son Karl Koeppen (Lynda); daughter Johanna Stoddard (Troy);  uncle, Pep Sattler; brother, William H. Sattler III; four grandchildren: Marshall, Brian, Chevon, and John; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A celebration of her life will be conducted at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Father Robert Seaton officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:30-5:30 p.m., prior to the service. A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service. After the dove release, the family invites you to return to the chapel for a time of sharing memories.

Due to the National Pandemic the service will be live streamed on Ralph Buckner Funeral Home Facebook Page.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent to New Hope Pregnancy Center in Cleveland, TN, The 100 Black Men of Bradley County, or The Caring Place in Cleveland, TN.
