Earl "Sonny" McCoy Green Jr.

Earl “Sonny” McCoy Green Jr., 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020 in a local hospital. 

He was born on November 14, 1938 in Seymour, TN to the late Earl and Juanita Green. He was of Christian faith, and he resided in Cleveland most of his life. Sonny, as he was known, spent his life as a cattle dealer who enjoyed spending time on his farm. His favorite pastimes were hunting, fishing, and livestock auctions.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bryan Lee Green, and his sisters Betty Parker and Evelyn Choate.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Joyce Nell Bishop Green; children, Michael Green and wife Tammy, Jan Rickman and husband Bert, and Greg Green, all of Cleveland; one sister Phyllis Ann Waters of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Heath Green and wife Caren, Emily Rose Green, and Haley Janel Rickman, all of Cleveland; great-granddaughter Piper Elizabeth Green; nephew Ronald “Ronnie” Parker; and niece Melissa Colburn

A graveside service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, September 11, 2020 at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Reverend Caleb Prytherch officiating.  A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service. 

The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
