David Mitchell Woods

David Mitchell Woods, 78, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, November 7, 2019, at his home.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.  He was born in Cleveland, moved to Miami Beach, FL, where he worked as a personal assistant to the Ware family for over 35 years.  He returned to Cleveland in 2008.  He was an avid poker player and car collector.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest Woods and Rella Orr Woods; and siblings, Helen Woods, Peggy Pierce, Thomas Woods, and Patsy Ortlieb.

He is survived by two loving sisters, Johnnie Bellamy and Linda Slaughter; seven children, David Bryan Woods of Tucson, AZ, Angela Woods Skinner and husband Jeffrey of Dayton, TN, Mark Steven Woods of Cleveland, Kimberly Lynn Jones and husband Dustin of Cleveland, Jonathan Woods, David Woods, and Amanda Woods; seven grandchildren, Mary Lemon, David Lee Woods, Adena Benevente, Brittany Sorayah Newton, Emily Woods, Reed Jones, and Sutton Jones; seven great grandchildren, Zachery Nance, Will Lemon, Kaden Lemon, Sadie Stepp, Emmie Stepp, Petra Stepp, and Roxus Woods; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of his life will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 11, 2019 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.  The playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service.
