David Lee Geren

David Lee Geren, 75, of Charleston, TN, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family.  He has lived in the Bradley County area his entire life, and was of the Church of God faith.  He had been an employee of Schering-Plough Healthcare Products of Cleveland, and a Veteran of the U.S. Navy.  He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and an avid car enthusiast who loved Corvettes and old Chevrolet trucks.

He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Geren; and sister, Drucilla Schnebel.

He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Caroline Faye Newport Geren; two children, Caitlin Almazan and husband Samuel and Chris Chapman, all of Cleveland; two grandchildren, Ian Almazan and Ellie Almazan; mother, Cora Lee Lewis Geren of Cleveland; two brothers, Danny Geren of Cleveland and Dennis Geren and wife Linda of Charleston; two sisters, Debbie Duggan and husband John of Cleveland and Donna Kaylor of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews also survive.

A celebration of his life will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2022, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend Eric Frank officiating.  Interment will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2022 in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Samuel Almazan, Jay Newport, Hunter Newport, Tyler Davis, Don Sizemore, Keller Melton, and Ian Almazan serving as pallbearers.  Military honors, a white dove release ceremony, and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service. 

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service at the funeral home.
