Billy Joe Burke

Billy Burke, age 80, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, March 7, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born here in Cleveland in 1942 to Raymond and Ada Mae Burke. He loved to watch Nascar and absolutely loved the beach. He was a professional painter and a pressman for over 20 years.  Billy was a proud Army Veteran and of the Baptist faith.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 41 years, Sandra Kay Geren Burke; sister, Shirley May; and brother, Larry Burke.

He is survived by his three children, Deborah Colbert of Bermuda Run, NC, Susan Reneau of Cleveland, and Melissa Jerfie (Chris) of Ooltewah; six grandchildren, Amy Mitchell (Camron), Megan Park (Chris), Kristina Reneau, Tiffany Cross, Savannah Cross, and Joselyn Gadd; great-grandchildren Andrew and William Mitchell, Kari Gray, and Graylan Twitty; brothers, Charles Burke (Nan) and Jerry Burke (Wanda); as well as several nieces, nephews, family and many friends.

A celebration of Billy’s life will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Phil Evaul officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home prior to the service.

Interment will follow to Hilcrest Memory Gardens. A White Dove Release Ceremony and the Playing of Bagpipes will conclude the service.
