Betty Jean Franks Brown, age 90, a longtime resident of Cleveland, passed away December 30, 2023. She was born February 7, 1933.
Betty was a member of Broad Street Methodist Church. She was a well known hairdresser for many years before teaching the Cosmetology trade she loved at Bradley Central High School. Betty loved spending her time working at home and in her beautiful garden. Betty's pride and joy was her four grandchildren. She embraced being a grandmother and loved hosting "Camp Grandma" each summer. Her family was the highlight of her retirement.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Fred Brown, Jr.; son, Dal Keith Brown, great-granddaughter, Novella Kate Fulghum, parents, Andrew and Stella Franks Williams; siblings, Thomas Franks, Leon Franks,
J.O. Franks, James Franks, Lawrence Franks, Gale Franks, Anna Mae Barr, and Ruth Snyder.
Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Ricky Butler; grandchildren, Andrew Butler (Morgan), Allison Fulghum (Michael), Dal Brown (Kelsey), and Cole Butler; great-grandchildren: Charlie, Benton, and Ty Fulghum, and Nolan and Liam Brown; sisters, Bobbie Harris and Nancy McGehee, as well as one brother-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Betty's life will be held at Poole Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Cleveland (3000 Ralph Buckner Blvd NE Cleveland, TN) on Thursday, January 4th, 2024 at 3pm, family will receive friends from 2pm until the funeral hour.
