Ben Gilbert Chastain

Ben Gilbert Chastain, 89, of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2022. Mr. Chastain was married for 59 years to his late wife, Willie Mae Chastain. He was a member of Beacon Baptist Church, and he worked for over 30 years at Cooks Manufacturing. He enjoyed camping and fishing and lived in the area his entire life.  

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Willie Mae Chastain; parents, Columbus and Molly Chastain; children, Gene Chastain and Steve Chastain; grandchild, Jason Chastain; 1 sister; and 8 brothers.

He is survived by his children, Charles R. Chastain and wife, Mary of McDonald, TN, Douglas F. Chastain of Cleveland, TN, James C. Chastain and wife, Debbie of Mt. Juliet, TN; grandchildren, Amy Chastain, Robert Chastain, Tony Chastain, Chris Chastain, Nicky Chastain, Jeremy Chastain, Josh Chastain, Kryste Lowe, and Matt Barker; brother, J.C. Chastain; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Rev. Floyd Boggess and Rev. David Evans officiating.  Interment will follow at Red Hill Cemetery with Robert Chastain, Josh Chastain, Matt Barker, Bryson Barker, Jake Beard, and Garry Cross serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony and the playing of bagpipes will conclude the service.  

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
