Ann Jean Shell

March 17, 1937 — November 12, 2020

Ann Jean Shell, 83, a resident of Cleveland, passed away peacefully at her residence, on Thursday, November 12, 2020.

Born on March 17, 1937 to Bertha and Clifford Marrow in Detroit, MI, she was lovingly known as a devoted mother and wife, and is remembered by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as “The Nanny”. She married the love of her life, Harold R. Shell on April 19, 1958, and had five children. A member of Westwood Baptist Church, she volunteered in the library, children’s church, backyard bible school, Awanas, and the grief support group. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and could be seen every weekend in her yellow VW, Hardees in hand, going to yard sales. Her greatest joy was bringing others happiness and encouragement through her personal card ministry.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and grandchild, Jeremy Gibson, and one great-grandchild, Malorie Rose Shell.

She is survived by her children, Roger Shell of Cleveland, Sandra Lovelace and husband, John of Harrison, Susan Patterson and husband, Daryl of Cleveland, Sheryl Taylor of Cleveland, and Keith Shell, and wife, Sharon of Decatur; grandchildren, Nathan Shell, Krisondra Gibson, Jessica Lovelace, Tyler Howard, Paul Patterson, Tia Patterson, Misty de Lamare, Natoshia Bunger, Kayla Shelton, and Chad Shell; and 12 great-grandchildren were also survived
