Kermit R. Burch, age 98, a resident of Cleveland for the past ten years, passed away Monday, November 14, 2005 in a local healthcare facility. He was born on September 16, 1907 in Bowie, Texas. He was a member of the Broad Street United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Kelly Class and the Congregational Care Committe. Mr. Burch was the son of the late Charles Love and Olive Burks Burch and was also preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Jane Horner Burch; siblings, Floy Bushree, Ivan Burch, Roy Burch and Vernon Burch. Kermit began his career as a salesman at the age of 18. His sales career continued as a manufacture?s Representative into his eighties. After moving to Cleveland, he enjoyed daily walks with his friends at the YMCA. These activities allowed him to enjoy people. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Jola Burch of Cleveland; two grandchildren: Bonnie Cathleen Tipper and husband, Ricky Tipper of Cornersville, TN and Reverend Brian Burch and wife, DeAnne Burch of Rural Retreat, VA; six grandchildren: Natalie Hooten, Shelly Tipper, Alexander Tipper, Matthew Burch, Michael Burch and Zachary Burch; one great-great-grandchild, Saxon Hooten.
