Anna Pearl Hawkins, age 82, a resident of Georgetown, was called home by the Lord on Sunday, December 4, 2005. She had lived in the Chattanooga area for most of her life and had resided in Georgetown for the past six years. She had been employed with Red Lobster since 1975 and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Leroy Gordy, mother, Katie S. Hawkins, and step-father, John Hawkins. Also preceding her in death were five half brothers: James H. Ray, Edward Gordy, Marcus Gordy, Thomas Gordy and Walter Gordy; five half sisters: Willie Lewis, Cleo Reeves, Callie Gibson, Myrtle Cline and Dora Thornton; two brothers: Taylor Gordy and Leroy Gordy; three step-sisters: Ollie Hawkins, Mollie Hawkins and Gertie Hawkins; one step-brother, Luther Hawkins; and one grandson, Melvin James Tucker. She is survived by two daughters and their spouses: Marchetta and Harry Cannon of Georgetown, and Erthelene and James Lea of Higdon, AL; six grandchildren: Bradley Smith of Georgetown, Kevin Smith of Johnson City, Jimmy Lea and wife Gina of Flat Rock, AL, Joy Talley and husband Roger, Pam Busby and husband Dennis, and Janie Wright, all of Higdon, AL; three step-children: Tom Cannon and wife Candy of Atlanta, GA, Daniel Cannon of Overland Park, KS, and Kim Treggessar and husband Rick of Cleveland; and seventeen great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.
