Myrtle Ellis Wright

June 29, 1922 — December 13, 2005

Myrtle Ellis Wright, age 83, a resident of Benton, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2005 in a Hamilton County healthcare facility. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Benton and, before her retirement, was a secretary at the Polk County Farm Bureau for many years. Mrs. Wright was the daughter of the late Hoyt and Susie Davis Ellis and was also preceded in death by her husband, I. J. Wright. Her brother, Raymond Ellis, and sister, Imogene Ellis Pate, also preceded her in death. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law: Linda W. and Joel Hardison of Chattanooga, and Judy Wright and Larry Michael Jenkins of Cleveland; four grandchildren: Melissa Hardison Pettway, Emily Hardison Bagley, Jeremy Michael Jenkins and Wesley Baxter Jenkins; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Kenneth Ellis of Nashville; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Robbie Speights officiating. Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with the release of a flock of white doves concluding the service. Her family will receive friends from 12 noon to 2 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home. Her family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Benton Building Fund, Benton TN 37307.
