Lorine Goodwin Hindmon, age 90, a resident of Cleveland passed away Wednesday, December 14, 2005. She was the widow of the late Luther "Chief" Goodwin, former chief police for the City of Cleveland for eighteen years, and the late C.J. Hindmon, a well-known retired Church of God minister. Her brother, Francis Nelms and sister, Geneva Kutcher, also preceded her in death. She was a member of Bellefounte Baptist Church, served as a volunteer at Bradley Memorial Hospital for many years and owned and operated the Golden Eagle Motel in Cherokee, NC for twenty years. She is survived by one son and spouse, Alvin and Reta Goodwin of Cleveland; two step-daughters, Norma Golden of Knoxville and Betty Ricks and husband Frank of Knoxville; two grandchildren, Laura Goodwin, Susan and Jonathan Hinkle; one great grandchild, Josh Goodwin all of Cleveland; several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren also survive.
