Wayne Watson, age 48, a life long resident of Cleveland, passed away Monday, February 27, 2006. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He was employed with Rubbermaid. He was a graduate of Bradley Central High School. He was an avid softball player and sportsman who coached hundreds of children for years in Bradley County. He worked with the Boys/Girls Club for over 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Connie Jean Gunnels Watson of Cleveland; mother, Alberta Goss of Cleveland; four children: Stephanie Jean Harvey, Jamie Daniel Harvey, Adam Michael Harvey and Nicholas Ray Harvey all of Cleveland; two grandchildren: Chase and Devin Thurman both of Cleveland; three sisters: Nellie Massengale and JoAnn Floyd both of Cleveland and Louise Watson of New Mexico; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Thomas Moncrief officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with the release of a flock of white doves concluding the service. His family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
