George Culbertson

George "Jeff" Culbertson, age 53, a resident of Calhoun, passed away Tuesday, February 28, 2006 in a local healthcare facility. He was a member of First Baptist Church. He attended Cleveland Day School. Mr. Culbertson was a supervisor of development and resource at Bowater Woodlands for twenty years. He was an Eagle Scout and was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the Elks Club and also a member of the Untouchables Band and he loved music. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Jake and Dorothy Tuton and Lowell and Teena Culbertson, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Marilynn Allen Culbertson of Calhoun; parents: Lowell and Doris Culbertson of Linville, North Carolina; two sons: Jeffery Joshua Culbertson of Golden, Colorado and Matthew Lowell Culbertson (an Eagle Scout) of Cleveland; one grandchild, Vail Peck of Golden, Colorado. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Dr. Robert Haskins officiating. His family will receive friends from 2-3 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
