Evelyn Mason

Evelyn L. Mason, age 86, a life long resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2006 in a local hospital. She was a life long member of the Cedar Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Mason was the daughter of the late Luther and Hester Cannon Higgins and was also preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Chester Mason who passed away five months ago. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Reverend Leonard Higgins and a sister, Della Paris Higgins. She is survived by her children and spouses: Ralph and Barbara Mason, Jerry Mason and Connie and Danny Gladson all of Cleveland; three grandchildren and spouses: Greg Mason, Tim and Nikki Mason, Jamie and and Crystal Gladson all of Cleveland; four great-grandchildren: Alex Mason, Kyleigh Mason, Zack Mason and Keslie Mason all of Cleveland; one sister-in-law, Blanch White of Old Fort; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Cedar Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Eddie Hooker, Reverend Gary Higgins and Reverend James Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in Moores Chapel Cemetery with Greg Mason, Tim Mason, Jamie Gladson, Roy Higgins, Gene Moore and Van White serving as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
