Oliver Murray, age 94, a resident of Cleveland and a former resident of California, passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2006 in a local hospital. He was known to many people as Abe and Ollie and was of the Baptist faith. He formerly worked in a millwright, as a policeman and also a truck driver in California and Michigan. He was with the Tennessee National Guard for four years. Mr. Murray was the son of the late Arthur and Ida Mae Johnson Murray and was also preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Lorranie Murray and siblings, Scott Murray, Clarence Murray, Claude Murray, Trudie Boswick, Wayne Murray, Unice Duneway, Ernest Murray, Elmer Murray, Haskell Murray and Chester Murray. He is survived by his two daughters: Linda Lee Murray of Westminster, CA and Barbara St. John of Irvine, CA; three grandchildren: Ronald Lee St. John, Wendy Lynette Hoy and Robert Lee St. John all of CA; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Delsie Smith of Cleveland; and good friend, Ed Watson. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Sunset Memorial Gardens with Reverend Bill Griffith officiating. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.
