Mildred Almena Norwood, age 99, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday morning, April 20, 2006 at a local healthcare facility. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Norwood was the daughter of the late Bertram and Inez Royce Westcott and was preceded in death by her husband, Verrill Milton Norwood, Sr., and siblings: William Westcott, Harold Westcott, Ruth Williamson and Ann Henderson. She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-laws: Verrill M. and Catherine Norwood, Jr. of Cleveland and Kenneth and Joan Norwood of Schenectady, NY; grandchildren: Dr.Verrill M. Norwood, III of Cleveland, Jeffery Norwood of Signal Mountain, Kathleen Greene of Johnson City, Dr. Kenneth Norwood of Chesapeake, VA, Christopher Norwood of Indianapolis, IN, Jonathan Norwood of Lynnfield, MA, Noelle McGill of Chesapeake, VA and seventeen great-grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Sunday at Broad Street United Methodist Church with Reverend Andy Ferguson and Reverend Debbie Stokes officiating. A private graveside service will be conducted at Sunset Memorial Gardens on Monday, April 24, 2006.
