Paul Edward Waddell, age 81, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2006 in a local hospital. He was a member of Bowman Hills Seventh day Adventist Church for many years, later moving to Ladd Springs Seventh day Adventist Church. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II in Rhineland and Central Europe where he fought in the Battle of the Bulge. Mr. Waddell was a member of the American Legion Post 81. He graduated from Illinois Tech with his B.S. Degree in engineering and worked for Bishop Baking Company for twenty five years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin K. Waddell and Elsie E. Sipe Waddell. He is survived by his wife of fifty seven years, Christine McSpadden Waddell of Cleveland; one son, Philip Waddell of Cleveland; brother-in-law, Ray Murray and wife Carolyn of Lenoir City; niece, Brenda Morris and husband Jim of Lenoir City; aunts: Sally Brown and Ola Mae Parm, both of Greenville, and Alice Nease of Del Rio; and several cousins. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Anthony Kelley officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with Sammy Humbard, Scott Bower, J.D. Nease, Bill Waddell, Billy Bryant and Philip Waddell serving as pallbearers.
