William Charles "Charlie" Bowers, age 58, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2006 in a local hospital. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving in Vietnam. He was employed as a truck driver with Grassmore Trucking and was a member of Freedom Worship. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mable Allman Bowers, and second wife, Ethel Pell Bowers. He is survived by his wife, Doris Gatlin Bowers of Cleveland; five children and spouses: Nina Charlene Bowers of South Carolina, Tracy Lynn and Kimberly Cross, Brian Keith Cross, Robert Lynn Teague, and James A. and Nancy Fuller, all of Cleveland; three grandchildren: Seirra Johnson, Michael Stocks and Shyanne Fuller, all of Cleveland; two brothers: Donnie Sims of California, and Ronnie Bowers and wife Ginger of Englewood; two sisters: Anna Mae Bowers and Mary Neil, both of Athens; special friends: Dewey Rowe of Kissimmee, FL, Dennis Casson of Chatsworth, GA, Ronnie Hensley of Cleveland, and all the members of Freedom Worship; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday at Freedom Worship Church with Evangelist James Fuller and Reverend Jesse Lee Millsaps officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Ronnie Hensley, Eric Wilson, Jonathon Wilson, Josh Kerr, George Beard and Junior Gatlin serving as pallbearers.
