Howard Bradley (H.B.) Campbell, age 83, a long time resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2006 in a Cleveland hospital. He was a member of the Peerless Road Church of God of Prophecy. He enjoyed golfing at the Cherokee Springs Golf Club. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and had served as a Chief Petty Officer in World War II. He had been employed in retail sales with Belk Department Store and J.C. Penney had retired from Cook Manufacturing Co. Mr. Campbell was the son of the late Joe and Ada Cook Campbell and was also preceded in death by four brothers, Leonard Waller, Leroy Campbell, Henry Waller and Manuel Campbell; one sister, Reba Campbell Daugherty. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jean Pruett Campbell of Cleveland; two children: Adonis Campbell and wife Gail Campbell of Richmond, VA and Keith Campbell of Cleveland; six grandchildren: Shayne Campbell, Shanda Hovis, Bradley Campbell, Dallas Campbell, Kristen Campbell and Kaitlin Campbell; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2006 at the Peerless Road Church of God of Prophecy with Pastor Tim Coalter and Reverend Robert Daugherty officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military honors and the white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Gary Fuller, Tony Pharr, Jack Williams, Perry Horner, Keith Minter and Shaun McKinley will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be senior ministers: Allen Davis, Ray Wynn, J.C. Cagle, A.J. Coalter, Leonard Kendrick, Hugh Edwards and also his golfing buddies: Lewis Sullivan, Milton Palmer, Paul Evans and Ben Lawrence. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, July 20, 2006 at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home and also Friday, July 21, 2006 from 12 noon to 1:00 p.m. at Peerless Road Church of God of Prophecy prior to the service.
