Anna Lou Blisard Peay passed away peacefully August 12, 2006 in Cleveland, TN. Anna was born in Montcoal, WV on February 19, 1926 and was the daughter of the late John Floyd and Mary Etta Ridenour Blisard. After high school, she attended the Kanawha Valley Hospital School of Nursing in Charleston, WV graduating with honors as a registered nurse. She worked as a floor nurse, private duty nurse, shift supervisor and head nurse during her working career at Kanawha Valley Hospital, Mattie Williams Hospital, Johnson Memorial Hospital, and at her longest place of employment Lebanon General Hospital/Russell County Medical Center. In addition to her parents, Anna is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Edward Peay, her sister, Ruth Kornya and her brother, John Blisard. Anna was a wife and mother who made sure her four children graduated from college. Surviving Anna are the loves of her life, her four children. Susan Marie Peay of Cleveland, TN; Nancy Lou Peay Hieb, her husband Monte and their children Gretchen Marie Hieb and Harrison Scott Hieb of Summersville, WV; Jane Ann Peay, her husband Henry Smith and twin sons Harry and James Smith of Abingdon, VA; and Thomas Edward Peay, Jr., his wife Kim and their children Thomas Edward Peay, III, Cory Lambert Peay and Emily Sue Peay of Marietta, GA. Her greatest joys were her grandchildren and she cherished every minute spent with them. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Jane Smith Drake of Charleston WV; a special niece Janet Sisson and her husband Donald of Sissonville, WV, many nephews and nieces who lovingly called her Aunt Lou Lou, Anna Lou and Ann and special friend Bobbie Queen and her husband Bill. The family would also like to remember and thank the staff of Cleveland Care and Rehabilitation Center for their care and love given to Anna. Anna leaves behind many neighbors and friends in Lebanon, VA, her home for 38 years. Funeral arrangements for Anna Peay will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2006 in the chapel of Combs Funeral Service in Lebanon, Virginia with Reverend Drew Henry officiating. Interment will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2006 in the Sunset Memorial Park in South Charleston, West Virginia with Reverend Larry Dial officiating. Her family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2006 at Combs Funeral Service prior to the service. The family will be grateful for floral tributes; however, they would also be pleased for friends to make memorial contributions to their church, favorite charitable organization or Hospice of Chattanooga, 58 Commons, Suite 101, 4355 Highway 58, Chattanooga, TN 37416.
