Hazel Mae Sherlin

Hazel Mae Sherlin, age 89, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, August 17, 2006 in a local healthcare facility. She attended South Cleveland United Methodist Church. Her favorite pastimes included cooking and shopping. She was the daughter of the late James and Maude Gallahar Carroll, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie R. Sherlin, one son, Gilbert Sherlin, and sister, Ethel Carroll. She is survived by two sons and their spouses: Charles and Dee Sherlin, and Herman and Mitzi Sherlin, all of Cleveland; four grandchildren: Sebrina Anderson, Chuck Sherlin, Scott Johnson, and Amanda Fontenot, all of Cleveland; and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, August 20, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend James Vaughn and Reverend Mike Dixon officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with Roy Sherlin, Jay Sherlin, Bob "Boog" Sherlin, Chuck Sherlin, Tommy Anderson and Stoney Daniel serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers include Scott Johnson, David Hughes and D. A. Sherlin.
