Ray Charles Glass

Ray Charles Glass, 50, of Matthews, North Carolina, formerly of Cleveland, died Thursday, August 17, 2006. He was born on February 3, 1956 in Johnson City, Tennessee to George William Glass, Sr. and Lois Irene Hicks Glass, both of Cleveland. Mr. Glass was a Logistics Specialist with the BASF Corporation and attended Matthews United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charlie and Minnie Hicks, and Rev. G.H. and Lockie B. Glass. In addition to his parents, Mr. Glass is survived by his wife, Sandra Overbey Glass; his children, Stuart William Glass, Emily Rae Glass and Stephen Gregory Glass, all of Matthews, NC; sister, Kim Glass; brothers, George W. Glass, Jr. of Cleveland, and Dr. Robert "Gary" Glass of Hendersonville. Services in Cleveland will be conducted Sunday, August 20, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. at Westmore Church of God with Reverend Ancil Overbey officiating. Interment will follow in Cedar Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Harry Dale, Robby Williams, Garland Hilliard, Larry Osborne, Patrick McClure Hicks and Edward Hicks serving as pallbearers. His family will receive friends at the church on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. prior to the service.
