Maude B. Jackson Melton, age 91, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, September 2, 2006 in a local healthcare facility. She was a member of Bellefounte Baptist Church. She was born in 1915 in Tennga, Georgia to the late John and Bertha Berry Jackson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Wilburn Melton, brothers: Paul Jackson, Cleo Jackson and Earl Jackson, sister, Velma Heifner, half-brother, David Jackson, and half-sister, Gail Eaton. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law: Donald "Donnie" and Linda Melton of Cleveland; one daughter and son-in-law: Wanda and Tim Dillard of Cleveland; brother, Virgil Jackson of Newport News, VA; half-sisters: Brenda Green and Deborah Ledford, both of Tennga, GA, Carolyn Bowman and Judy Jackson, both of Cleveland, and Pamela Stafford of Chatsworth, GA; and sisters-in-law: Lorene Jackson of Speedwell, Dena Jackson of Maryville, and Audie Keener of Chatsworth, GA. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Boanerges Baptist Church with Reverend Sam Melton, Reverend Lake Walker and Reverend J. W. Burgess officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery concluding with the release of a flock of white doves.
