Earl Casteel, age 65, a resident of Georgetown, passed away Tuesday, September 05, 2006 at the family residence. He was a member of Covenant Baptist Church. He retired from Duracell Corporation after 23 years of service and also retired from Lowe?s Building Supply Store after 10 years of service. He was a civil war artifact enthusiast and a street rod enthusiast. He was a veteran of the United States Army and also served in the Tennessee National Guard. Mr. Casteel was preceded in death by his father, Arlie Earl Casteel, Sr. and a son, Robbie McCarter. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Casteel of Georgetown; five children: Jimmy Casteel of Knoxville, Treva Stafford, Loretta McCarter and Laura Lay all of Cleveland and Troy Adams of Dallas, Texas; nine grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Ronnie Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Johnston Cemetery with Military Honors. Mark Andrews, Jr., James Walter Hickman, Jeremy Thomas Andrews, Wayne Ware, Zackery Andrews and Lyle Sawyer will serve as pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
