Arliss Beasley Proffitt, age 66, a life long resident of Cleveland, passed away suddenly Wednesday evening, September 6, 2006 in Minot, North Dakota. She was retired from M&M Mars after twenty-one years of service. She was a member of East Cleveland Baptist Church. Mrs. Proffitt was the daughter of the late Eula Arthur and Lena Vesta Corbin Beasley and was also preceded in death by a brother, Mack Beasley and an uncle, Mack Beasley. She is survived by her husband of fifty years, Earl Jackson Proffitt of Cleveland; two daughters: Denice Proffitt of Greenbrier, TN and Sheila Proffitt of Knoxville and fiancée Jared McDonald of Knoxville; one brother, Willie Ray Beasley of California; host of nephews, nieces, family and a life time friends also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Keith Watson officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and also 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service.
