Shirley Ann Chrisman Torbett, age 70, a resident of Cleveland passed away Friday, September 8, 2006 at the family residence. She was a member of the Athens Free Saints True Holiness Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Mrs. Torbett was the daughter of the late Jess and Ada Hicks Chrisman and was also preceded in death by a son Darrel Lynn Torbett. She is survived by her husband of 52 years James "Bill" Torbett of Cleveland; children and spouses: Mickey and Teresa Torbett of Cleveland, Tim and Tondi Torbett of Murfreesboro, and Kevin Torbett of Murfreesboro; four grandchildren: Jason Rogers and wife Earon of Cleveland, Amanda Torbett of Cleveland, Will Torbett and Justin Torbett both of Murfreesboro; four sisters and spouses: Hazel and Cliff Crowder of Gatlinburg, Joan and Carver Rhinehart of Englewood, Jackie and Mike Land of Athens and Rita and Tommy Hembree of Cleveland; five brothers and spouses: Jesse Lee and Wanda Chrisman of Calhoun, Chester and Gwen Chrisman of Athens, Granville and Sharon Chrisman, Randall and Marcella Chrisman, and Perry and Mary Chrisman all of Englewood; brother-in-law and sisters-in-law: Iva Dean Pendergrass of Cleveland, Twila Chrisman of Englewood and Gary Torbett of Riceville; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Monday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Bill Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery. Floyd Chrisman, Todd Torbett, Travis Torbett, Chad Chrisman, Johnny Chrisman and Jack Allen Mantooth will serve as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 5-9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
