Hans E. Petersen, 78, of Cleveland, passed away September 11, 2006 at his residence. He was born in Tonder, Denmark on June 9, 1928, the son of the late Peter and Matilda Christine Petersen. He also was preceded in death by is brother Carl Petersen, and sister Louisa (Matrethe) Hendriksen all of Denmark. Mr. Petersen graduated from university of Denmark with a degree in mechanical engineering. He spent many years with his family traveling abroad to various different countries and retired from Ford Motor Company. After retirement, he also worked as an installer for local companies to include Sears and Chase appliance. He was a Mason and a member of the Elks Lodge. He will be remembered for his strong sense of keeping family traditions and his keen ability to be innovative and creative with any task set before him. He was a passionate, energetic and skillful in all his endeavors and achieved much success in all that he did. He is survived by his wife, Hildegard M. Petersen, of Cleveland; one son Carl P. Petersen, of Cleveland; two daughters: Vivian Petersen, of Chattanooga, TN and Suzanne Johnson, of Cleveland, TN; granddaughter Kristina Johnson, of Cleveland, TN; on step son and step daughter-in-law Edmund and Susan Petersen of Oxford, GA; one step grandson Troy Petersen, of Kennesaw, GA; one step granddaughter Tracie Busey of Roswell, GA. Service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Caywood officiating.
