Sharon Gates Howard

Sharon Gates Howard, age 60, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, September 22, 2006 at her home. She was a member of Big Spring Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Cletis and Lenora Gee Gates and was also preceded in death by one brother, Vernon Gates and one sister, Barbara Guy. She is survived by three children and their spouses: Scott and Kim Howard of Birchwood, Cletis and Candy Howard, and Cindy Howard Mowery and Derrick Mowery, all of Cleveland; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Evelyn Payne and husband Winston of Cleveland; one brother, Bob Gates and wife Betty of Cleveland; sister-in-law, Wanda Gates of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Isaac Hicks officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with the release of a flock of white doves concluding the service. Pallbearers include Michael Gates, Steve Gates, Ricky Gates, Scotty Howard, Larry Howard, James Howard and Drew Kirkman, and with Chip Bryant, Paul Gates and Don Rose serving as honorary pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 4 ? 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
