Margaret Ione Copeland Edwards, resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, September 29, 2006 in a local healthcare facility. She attended Carson Newman College and was a teacher with the Polk County School System for several years. She also volunteered as a Gray Lady at Bradley Memorial Hospital for many years and was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late J. V. and Ella Gamble Copeland and was also preceded in death by her husband, Lea Harle Edwards and one son, Don V. Edwards. Three brothers also preceded her in death: Fred McClary Copeland, R.R. "Bob" Copeland and G. V. "Doll" Copeland. She is survived by her son, Joe Edwards of Cleveland and his wife Nell (Mrs. Edwards? special caregiver for many years); two granddaughters: Leslie Edwards Norman of Franklin and her husband Todd, and Brooke Taylor Edwards of Cleveland; special friend, Bennie Nicholson; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Kinzel Hooker officiating. Interment will follow in Cookson Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Don Bowker, Doyle Nichols, Todd Norman, Tommy Barrett, Charles Edwards and Alex Cummings serving as pallbearers. Her family will receive friends from 5 ? 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
