Beatrice "Aunt Bea" Keasler, age 94, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, October 1, 2006 in a local hospital. She was born in Summerville, Georgia. She was a member of the Eagles Chapel Church. She was a graduate of Bradley Central High School and received a Bachelor Degree from Polytechnic Institute in Cookville, Tennessee and a Masters Degree from UTC. She taught many years as teacher, counselor and principal in the Bradley County School System and later moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where she taught for several years. After her retirement, she returned to Cleveland where she was a volunteer at Bradley Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Keasler was the daughter of the late L. R. and Ola Bayne Jackson and was also preceded in death by her husband, Cecil "Pete" Keasler and two sons, Dewayne Keasler and Melvin Neal Keasler. She was preceded in death by two sisters: Gladys Hargraves and Frances Kile, one brother, Alvin Jackson, two half sisters and two half brothers, L.R.Jackson, Jr., Bill Jackson, Grace Presswood, and Violet Price. She is survived by two half sisters: Geneva Witt of Tunnel Hill and Jackie Hancock of Cleveland; nieces and nephews: David Kile, Elaine Roderick, Reba Jennings, Steve Jackson, Bill Kile, Robert Hargraves and Irene York. Funeral services will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Eagles Chapel Church with Reverend Johnnie Jones officiating. Entombment will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with the white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Stacey Guffey, David Kile, Jr., Afton Dale Kile, Lee Jones, David Martin, Tyson Roderick and Tim Arntz will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be James Johnson, Wayne Gatlin and Robert Burchfield. Her family will receive friends from 2-6 p.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the service. Ralph Buckner Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
