Nina Lee Smith, age 88, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, October 10, 2006 in a local nursing home. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. Smith was the daughter of the late James R. Runions and Maude Runions Hill and was also preceded in death by her three sons, James Alvin Smith, Ralph Edward Smith, Robert Glenn Smith; a son-in-law, James Newman; three sisters: Willie Hill Godfrey, Sadie Hill Dunn and Mildred Hill Parham. She is survived by her seven children and spouses: Helen Boyd of Cleveland, Nancy and Terry Massengill of Dalton, GA, Brenda and Jimmie Jones of Nashville, Charles and Sue Smith of Cleveland, Pat Newman of Cleveland, Travis and Linda Humbard of Cleveland, Robin and Douglas Cline of Cleveland; daughter-in-law, Rhoda Smith of Cleveland; son-in-law, Homer Freeman of Cleveland; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Charles Smith and Pastor J.C. Eller officiating. Interment will follow in Moores Chapel Cemetery with Jimmie Jones, Joseph Newman, Jeff Freeman, Tim Smith, Drew Howard, Josh Moore and Penny Wade serving as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 5-9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
