Clarence L. Ramsey, age 82, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, October 19, 2006 in a local hospital. He attended the South Cleveland Church of God for over fifty years. He was a well known barber in Bradley County for over fifty years at My Barber Shop on 1st Street. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. Mr. Ramsey was the son of the late Robert T. and Naomi Pence Ramsey and was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Parker Ramsey; four sisters: Clara Ramsey, Clora Lansford, Ada Murray and Fannie Smith; two brothers, Carl Ramsey and Wayman Ramsey. He is survived by his two daughters and their spouses: Dana and Larry Hall of Cleveland and Letha and Jim Zore of Indianapolis, Indiana; three grandchildren: Whitney Ballard and husband, Zach Ballard, Brittany Gilbert and Trisha Gilbert; two sisters, Ruth Smith and Rosalie Miller both of Checotah, OK; two brothers, Jim Ramsey of Cleveland and Joe Bill Ramsey of Pace, Florida; special friend, Tressie Jones of Cleveland; several nieces, nephews and step grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Moody and Dr. Carl Hobbs officiating. Interment will follow in Mount Olive Cemetery with the white dove release ceremony concluding the service. His family will receive friends from 3-9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
