John Caywood

May 13, 1918 — October 28, 2006

John Benjamin "J.B." Caywood, age 88, a resident of Cleveland, loving father and grandfather, has gone home to be with the Lord. He passed away Saturday, October 28, 2006 at home following a lengthy illness. He was a deacon and avid greeter at Gum Springs Baptist Church. His commitment to Christ was reflected by his perfect attendance in Sunday School for over forty years. He was the son of the late Lester and Ethel Caywood and was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Crissie Elrod Caywood, daughter, Brenda, two granddaughters: Debbie Caywood and Robin Hickman, one brother, Ray Caywood, and one sister, Marie Wilson. He is survived by three sons and their wives: Jim and Arlene Caywood of Cleveland, Terry and Sue Caywood of Georgetown, and Ron and Debbie Caywood of Piedmont, OK; two daughters and their husbands: Sandy and Fred Murphy, and Connie and Hoyle Johnson, all of Georgetown; ten grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren; two brothers: Harold Lee Caywood of Cleveland, and Frank Caywood of Valdosta, GA; two sisters: Thelma (Mrs. Bobby) Moore of Cleveland, and Delores (Mrs. Wyatt) Hallmark of Jacksonville, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor David Cross and sons: Reverend Jim Caywood and Terry Caywood, officiating. Interment will follow in Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery with the release of a flock of white doves concluding the service. Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 5 ? 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The family requests that memorials may be made to Hopewell Cemetery Fund, Gum Springs Baptist Church, or Westwood Baptist Church.
