Evay C. White, age 93, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2006 in a Chattanooga hospital. She was of the Baptist faith. Mrs. White was the daughter of the late George and Mary Riggs Cooley and was also preceded in death by her husband, Raymond White, Sr.; two children: Mary Frances White and Claude Ray White; siblings: Grover Cooley, Robert Cooley, Tolley Cooley, Lush Cooley, Mack Cooley, Lula Morrison and Renda McCormick. She is survived by two children: Beulah Sheldon and husband, Ernest Sheldon of Old Fort and Earl White of Cleveland; nine grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Lizzie Rayburn of Etowah; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Jerry Herron and Reverend Randy Cooley officiating. Interment will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery with Jeremy Cartwright, Daniel Wilson, David Wilson, Chris Wilson, James Wilson, John Wilson and Eric Keith serving as pallbearers. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Her family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home and 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service.
