Paul E Rice

Paul E. Rice, Sr., age 69, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Friday, November 10, 2006 at his home. He was a former member of the Tennessee National Guard. He was a graduate of Tennessee Wesleyan College and was a member of Westwood Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday school teacher and usher. He was employed with Bowater for thirty eight years and had worked with H. & R. Block for the past ten years. His parents, John Calvin "J.C." and Attie Biggs Rice, preceded him in death as well as his sister, Mary Jane Kinser. He is survived by his wife of forty seven years, Barbara Maxwell Rice of Cleveland; three children and their spouses: Paul Rice, Jr. and Tina of Cleveland, Brian Rice, Sr. and Katherine of Ooltewah, and Patrice Holly of Cocoa, FL; eight grandchildren: Will Rice, Ben Rice, B. J. Rice, Kristi Rice, Jacob Twomey, Keegan Rogers, Sean Holly and Amber Holly; one brother, James W. "Billy" Rice of Cleveland; one sister, Betty Ray of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Caywood, Wayne Finnell and Bill Ingram officiating. Private interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Steve Rouse, Theron Kinser, Pat Kinser, Tom Jolly, John Wiggins and Byron Eidson serving as pallbearers. The Lewis Kearney Sunday School Class of Westwood Baptist Church will serve as honorary pallbearers.
