Raymond L. Satterfield, age 84, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2006 in an Athens healthcare facility. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army World War II where he served in the Ardennes, Rhineland and Central Europe and was formerly a member of the American Legion and the VFW. He was employed with Burlington Industries for 35 years. Mr. Satterfield was the son of the late Dewitt and Jessie Satterfield and was also preceded in death by his wife, Dorotha Elsie Satterfield; daughter, Linda Sue Strozier and son, Raymond M. Satterfield. He is survived by his two sons and spouses: Michael and Rachael Satterfield and Glenn and Susie Satterfield all of Cleveland; 27 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruby Walker of Chattanooga. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with Reverend Hank Davis officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors. A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service. Michael Strozier, David Satterfield, Scott Satterfield, Glenn Satterfield, Jr., Michael Satterfield, Jr., Tim Ponder and Chris Satterfield will serve as pallbearers. His family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
